About the author

Bassem Saab, MD graduated from the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in 1984. He served as a Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program at AUBMC, from 2003 till 2024. Saab provided consultations to UNICEF and the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.  He acted as an international advisory board member for several peer reviewed journals like the British Journal for General Practice. He also was a member of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education-International from 2018-2024.
 
Dr Saab has more than eighty publications in regional and international peer reviewed journals.
