About the author
Dr. R V Ralegaonkar is currently a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, India. He has an overall two decades of professional experience in industry and academics. He works broadly in the area of sustainable construction engineering. He has published more than 180 research papers in referred international and national journals and conferences. He has also published 2 books and 3 book chapters. Dr. Ralegaonkar has guided 10 doctoral candidates, 55 masters and 10 graduate-level student projects. He is also actively involved in consultancy and research activities. He has been awarded 4 international and three national awards for his work in the field. Dr. Ralegaonkar has also served as an editor-in-chief, principal convener, secretary, editorial board member and reviewer and has held other positions in various journals and at conferences.
Dr. V A Mhaisalkar retired as a Professor from VNIT, Nagpur. He has around four decades of professional experience in teaching, research, consultancy and administration. His area of research primarily focuses on water and wastewater engineering, environmental systems design and optimization and environmental impact assessment. He has published over 90 research papers, 70 technical reports and two manuals. He has guided over 70 PG students for their dissertation work and has supervised 14 research scholars for the award of Ph.D. degree. He has been awarded three Indian patents. Dr. Mhaisalkar served as an expert member in several committees constituted by the state and central governments of India. He has travelled to various countries for technical meetings and interactions. He has been actively involved in various professional bodies and has organised various events. He has several national awards to his credit. Dr. Mhaisalkar is currently involved with working with an NGO targeting the improvement in environmental quality in the Nagpur region.
Dr. Girish is presently working as Chief Scientist and Chair, Institutional R & D Infrastructure, Planning & Management in CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIRNEERI), Nagpur India. He is a Graduate in Civil Engineering and obtained Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from Govt. Engg. College Jabalpur. He acquired Ph. D. in Environmental Engineering from Nagpur University in 2007. He has published more than fifty papers in National and International journals and authored five chapters in various books. Dr. Girish has guided more than 20 post graduate & undergraduate students for their project work and supervised 04 Ph. D. students. Dr. Girish has developed and implemented improved MBBR system for treatment of sewage at MIDC Butibori and also developed Novel Circular Secondary Clarifier called “Hydroplume” for improved solids-liquid separation in water and wastewater treatment. Hyroplume is included as one of the recent technologies in CPHEEO Manual 2013.
