It is a typical day at the beach for the Wilson family's picnic-or was it? An amazingly, unique sea creature, named Juniper asks Forest and Aarin if they could help rescue her family of Seakorns.
It is said that Seakorns are created from the tears of a Unicorn. When the Unicorn's magical tears touch the Gulf's salt water, it creates new life in the form of very small Seakorns. The children receive a magical gift of swimming underwater, never needing to surface for air; they are also safe from all the harmful fish they might encounter under water and the children have the ability to communicate with all creatures of the sea.
Forest and Aarin's adventure takes them through many different sea colonies with the guided help from their friends, Juniper the Seakorn and Sharpina, an extremely funny swordfish. The children's ultimate mission is to save the taken Seakorns, held in Sea Colony Twelve. Their adventure starts on an isolated beach in the Florida panhandle and winding its way through many uniquely different sea colonies.
The newly formed groups of friends become faced with confronting the misunderstood Portuguese man-of-war. All of the Gulf's creatures believe that these man-of-war are trying to control all life in the Gulf of Mexico. In the end, Forest and Aarin understand that it is not good to listen to just rumors, and miscommunication leads to misunderstandings and possible unnecessary wars. The children learn to have all the correct facts when making a big decision that might affect others!
