This is a true story that takes you on an epic journey, a no-holds-barred unique insight into a life and a world that became my world. The reality of life at its most raw and at its most incredible, written with total honesty on the journey as it unfolded, by me, Jayne.
Looking at the map, I see a line running from Birmingham, England, through the countries of west coast Africa to South Africa. All the countries we had driven Lizzybus our Land Rover through. When pushed to limits we didn't even know existed, we became thin, feral, and at times lost, not just in direction but purpose. With only each other to rely on, it tested us physically, emotionally and personally.
Come with us now along the east coast of Africa into Asia and on to a country so big it is its own continent, that of Australia.
About the author
Jayne Wilkinson, an identical twin, from a council estate in Birmingham, born to a factory worker father and a housewife mother. Travel for her was the local park or a coach trip to the seaside, not driving around the world in a Land Rover.
As an identical twin, she came out of the womb, firstly, pissed at having to share an egg, and secondly with half a personality. Jayne is competitive and artistic, while Jenny is studious and always on time, but neither had confidence or self-belief. By the age of twenty-five, married, with two children, Jayne realized alcohol and debt were not what she wanted and found her feet.
