This book is the result of a research on the process of teaching music in Holguin, city of the northeastern zone of Cuba.In this copy the reader will be able to know the historical and cultural evolution of Holguin's music, from the colonial time to the first two decades of the XXI century. In this journey, reference is made to the main academies, illustrious families, great masters of music, as well as the cultural relations with other manifestations of the arts.The opening of specialized art schools both in Cuba and in the territory of Holguin as a policy of education and culture since the Revolution, and a significant list of the main masters of the different lines of music training is collected.This book constitutes a humble recognition and tribute to the teachers and masters of music education, as well as the contribution that this province has made to the enrichment of the musical patrimony of this territory and of Cuba.
About the author
Ramón Collado González (Holguín, Cuba, 1969). University professor with 15+ years of experience. He has a Master's Degree in History and Culture in Cuba, a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and is a doctoral student in Educational Sciences. He works in the line of Cuban musical heritage. He has scientific publications and participation in national and international events.
