Electrochemistry of Natural Compounds explores cutting-edge techniques in electrosynthesis, emphasizing green chemistry principles for the sustainable production of these valuable molecules. It delves into the application of natural compounds in nanoparticle biosynthesis and their subsequent electrochemical applications. A significant portion of the book focuses on the investigation of natural compounds as corrosion inhibitors, utilizing Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Further, it provides a thorough review of voltammetric methods, including cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and more, highlighting electrode modification strategies and optimization techniques. Practical aspects such as solution preparation, electrode fabrication, and the impact of pH are addressed, making this a hands-on resource for researchers and students.
This book offers a unique combination of electrosynthesis, corrosion inhibition, and voltammetric measurement techniques specifically tailored for the analysis and application of natural compounds. This holistic approach fills a gap in current literature, providing researchers with a valuable resource for developing novel electrochemical methods for analyzing and utilizing natural products across diverse scientific disciplines.
Key Features:

  • Introduces terms and concepts used to describe electrochemical reactions.
  • Covers Green Chemistry, Oxidation, and Reduction early to provide a foundation for understanding later topics.
  • Explores factors that affect voltammetric methods used to determine natural compounds.
  • Addresses coverage of green nanoparticle synthesis using these methods.
  • Studies the use of Cyclic voltammetry (CV), Linear Sweep Voltammetric (LSV), Chronoculometry. - Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV), and Rotating Disc-Ring (RDE).
