It highlights the historiographical and source base of the problem, characterizes the works of the Soviet period more objectively, without taking into account communist ideology, comprehensively shows the human and material losses caused by the occupiers to the region's industry and agriculture, and examines the legal side of the issue. The source base is represented by documents from the Military Archive of the German National People's Army, the State Archive of the Mykolaiv Region, documents of the party leadership and state authorities of the Ukrainian SSR, materials from periodicals, and scientific works by domestic historians.
