About the author

Daisuke Yosumi was born near Osaka in 1970. He has worn many hats. He was head of Warner Music (Japan) at age 34. As a record producer, Yosumi recorded ten million-selling hits before moving to New Zealand in 2010.
There he created a sustainable self-sufficient lifestyle unconstrained by time or place where he could pursue a minimalist workstyle independent of any outside system.

Yosumi is the president of LifestyleDesign.Camp, a school where students learn how to design their own post-capitalism lifestyle. He is also a noted environmentalist, as the first Japanese ambassador for Greenpeace Japan as well as Fairtrade Japan, and an ambassador for Japan's Ministry of the Environment. He lives in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand with his family.

He also hosts a podcast Noiseless World in Japanese, English, and French. His main topics, including Japanese minimalism and Zen degrowth thinking resonate strongly with people living in an excessively capitalist and over-materialized society.
