About the author










Paul Buka, MSc (Criminal Justice and Criminology), PGCE, LLB (Hons) Law, HNC, RGN, RNT, (FETC (City & Guilds, 7307), HNC, Public Admin (Constitutional and Admin law), MIHSCM, FHEA, Member of the Institute of Medical Ethics ENB 998, ENB 923. He is a visiting Lecturer at the University of Essex. He specialises in Healthcare Law and Ethics, with several publications (since 1999). He trained as a Registered General Nurse in Scotland, specialising in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and gained substantial experience as a clinician and academic, programme leader and senior lecturer, at (the University of West London) for 12 years.
He read law from HNC, degree to master's levels, with specialist interests in Criminal Justice, Jurisprudence, Human Rights and Mental Health Law, and training and working experience in Health and Safety law as a (Union) health and safety representative in Clinical Practice and HE. Overall, he gained 24 years' experience in Education having started his academic career, teaching Law at A- level and the former ILEX diploma programmes. He also served as a lay committee member for a Department of Health Regional Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards (ACCEA) for seven years.
