Informationen zum Autor S.R. Slings (+), Ph.D. (1981) in Humanities, was Professor of Greek at the Free University, Amsterdam. He published extensively on Plato, and edited Platonis Respublica in the series Oxford Classical Texts. Gerard Boter is Professor of Greek at the Free University, Amsterdam. His publications include The Textual Tradition of Plato's Republic (1989) and The Encheiridion of Epictetus and its three Christian adaptations. Transmission and critical editions (1999). Johannes M. van Ophuijsen is Cornelia J. De Vogel Professor of Philosophy (Platonism and early Christianity) at Utrecht University and a Fellow of University College Utrecht. He publishes on Plato, Aristotle, the early Stoics, and the continuation of their thought through the Christian and Muslim middle ages down to the early modern period.
