About the author

Dr. Janakarajan Ramkumar is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (ITI) Kanpur. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy in 1987. He obtained his M.E and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He was the investigator of 22 research projects sponsored by DST, ARDB, BARC, MHRD, DRDO, etc. He has published about 175 peer-reviewed international journal papers, and 105 peer-reviewed conference proceedings, holds 63 patents, and authored several test books. Prof. Ramkumar received various awards, which include the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) award, Eminent Engineer Award 2019, Outstanding Scientist for his contribution and achievement in the field of mechanical engineering, Bharat Vikas Award for his contribution towards developing new products for inclusive society, Ram Tiwari Chair of IIT Kanpur, etc.

Dr P Bhardwaj is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT(BHU) VARANASI, UP. He has a total of 27 years of experience in teaching. His research interest includes Discrete Event Simulation, Cellular Manufacturing Systems, SCM, and Quality Engineering. He published over 15 research papers in international journals and many more in various conferences. He worked on one funded project. He authored one book. He was awarded a Production Engineering Division Medal by the Institute of Engineers India. He has lifetime membership in many societies and is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India).

Dr. D. Khan is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department IIT(BHU) VARANASI, UP. He obtained his PhD from IIT Kharagpur in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research interest includes Finite Element Method, Solid Mechanics, and Fracture Mechanics. He published over 25 research papers in international journals and many more in various conferences. He authored one book. He has life-time membership of many societies like ASME, Indian Society for Theoritical and Applied Mechanics, Institute of Engineers, etc.

Dr S Dodla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Sri Venkateshwara University College of Engineering, Tirupati 2009. He obtained his MTech. from the Applied Mechanical Department at IIT Madras in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany in 2015, respectively. He has ten years of research experience in carrying out research in the area of multiscale material modeling, texture evolution, computational mechanics, composites design, and crystal plasticity. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed international journal papers and conference papers.
