In the second volume of his "A Collection of Modern Latin American Architecture" trilogy, Brazilian photographer Leonardo Finotti continues his reappraisal of Latin America's modern architectural legacy as he reconstructs key buildings through the lens of his camera. Shifting the focus from the great protagonists to less visible geographies and scales, Finotti explores nine further metropolises: Buenos Aires, Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Quito, San José, Caracas, Guatemala City and Guadalajara. The accompanying essay by curator and researcher Alexia Tala situates Finotti's work within architectural and photographic discourse with particular emphasis on its connection to the legacy of Brazilian concrete art, serial photography and archiving as an act of intervention.
