About the author
Mahdi Ahouie is Assistant Professor of International Politics and a faculty member of the Iranian Studies Department at the University of Tehran. He received his PhD in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. His research focuses on Middle East politics, Iranian foreign policy, and the cultural and psychological dimensions of international relations. Ahouie has published widely in academic journals and edited volumes, and he is a frequent commentator on Iranian politics in international media.
Politics of Honor and Tragedy in Iran is his first book-length study exploring the intersection of psychoanalytic theory, cultural identity, and political discourse in contemporary Iran.
