About the author

Chris Gatcum is a photographer, author, and editor with more than 20 years' experience. As well as the obligatory digital camera arsenal, his camera bag bulges with myriad "old timer" film cameras: from early box cameras to TLRs; large format to pinhole. He is currently modifying an early large-format Speed Graphic to shoot paper negatives.

Chris has written more than a dozen books, across a wide range of camera-related subjects, covering film photography, digital technology, and processing. He is the author of the best-selling The Beginner's Photography Guide, Complete Photography and Mastering Film Photography, among other titles, and continues to work behind the scenes on countless photography book projects for a number of leading publishers.

He lives in Devon, England.
