Under Hitler, Munich was the "Capital of the Nazi Movement". From 1931, the Nazi Party made the city its administrative centre, and the "Führer" had a private residence here up to 1945. The SS was founded in the Bavarian capital, and from here spread its reign of terror across the whole of the German Reich. Munich, just like Berlin, was to be rebuilt according to Hitler's ideas with wide boulevards and buildings of monumental grandeur.
Maik Kopleck's PastFinder takes you to the famous and the lesser known sites of this period in Munich's history and gives details about the buildungs and the events linked to them. Several maps and a clear graphic design help you put together your own sightseeing tour.
