About the author

As a little girl, books became Carol's world. Having grown up in a time and place where jobs and money were scarce, holding a book in her hands was like digging up buried treasure. When she wasn't reading, she played school. Years later, one of her dreams materialized when she graduated college with a teaching degree. Now, with that career behind her, she is embarking on another journey as an author. Time and God's goodness have brought her further than she ever could have imagined. Erin Ryan Macphee has been drawing and painting since she could hold a crayon. Her first inspiration came at the age of three when her mother, a self-taught artist, took Erin with her as she sketched houses and historic buildings in their small town. Erin has been an elementary art teacher and a working artist for over thirty years. She continues to teach, illustrate, and paint murals today. She lives on a small farm in the rural northwest corner of Rhode Island with her family and an assortment of animals.
