Description

This book introduces solution plasma chemistry. The reaction field realized by solution plasma is a non-equilibrium state which inherits the characteristics of both conventional solution chemistry and plasma chemistry. By using this reaction field, it is possible to easily realize the process of new organic synthesis, reduction of metal ions, nanoparticle synthesis, nanocarbon synthesis, and surface treatment and thin film treatment on powders. In this book, various examples of such materials synthesis are shown. This book is useful for graduate students to study the basics of solution plasma chemistry and its applications.

List of contents

What are Solution Plasmas?.- Basics of Plasma Physics.- Characteristics of Solution Plasmas.- Electrochemistry in Solution Plasma.- Chemical Reactions in Solution Plasma.

About the author

Nagahiro Saito received his Ph.D. from Waseda University in 2000. His research interests include  plasma chemistry in solution; the synthesis of nanomaterials such as graphene, hetero-graphene, nanoparticles, and the application of materials to battery, fuel cells, and related devices.

He is currently a professor at the Department of Chemical System Engineering, Nagoya University. He has published more than 300 articles and contributed to more 10 books.
