About the author

Tilo Hase, geb. 1986, arbeitet als Beauftragter für Europa, Nachhaltigkeit und kommunale Entwicklungspolitik beim Bezirksamt Lichtenberg von Berlin. Der Erziehungswissenschaftler promovierte an der Universität Kassel, gefördert durch die Hans-Böckler-Stiftung. 2019 forschte er im UNESCO-Archiv in Paris und war 2021 bis 2022 Visiting Researcher an der University of British Colombia in Vancouver, Kanada. Er absolvierte zahlreiche Forschungs- und Berufsaufenthalte, unter anderem in Venezuela, Indien, Mosambik, Kuba, Israel/Westbank, Frankreich, Spanien, England und Kanada.

In Zeiten multipler Krisen ringen entwicklungspolitische Bildungsorganisationen heftig um angemessene Antworten auf die globalen Herausforderungen. Tilo Hase legt mithilfe einer hegemonietheoretischen Diskursanalyse eine fundierte Kritik der aktuellen Bildungsverhältnisse vor und wirft einen neuen Blick auf die Globale Bildung als umkämpftes Feld. Mit Ansätzen aus der Globalisierungsforschung, der Pädagogik, der Demokratie- und Diskurstheorie – allen voran Ernesto Laclau und Chantal Mouffe – sowie mit post- und dekolonialen Konzepten zeigt er die Bedeutung der Kritischen Theorie für die aktuelle internationale Bildungs- und Entwicklungspolitik auf.
