About the author
Álvaro Rocha is a Professor of Information Systems at ISEG – University of Lisbon, Honorary Professor at Amity University, and researcher at ADVANCE and CINTESIS. He holds Habilitation in Information Science, a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technologies, an M.Sc. in Information Management, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. His research interests include maturity models, management and intelligent information systems, quality, cybersecurity, e-government, e-health, and IT in education. He is Vice-Chair of the IEEE Portugal SMC Society Chapter and serves as Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Information Systems and RISTI – Revista Ibérica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informação. He is also the Scientific Manager of the Information Systems Engineering & Management book series at Springer-Nature. His expertise has been recognized through advisory roles for the European Commission (Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe), COST, and national science agencies in Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Poland, Cyprus, and Slovakia. He is ranked among the World’s Top 1% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier, the World’s Top 0.05% by ScholarGPS, and the World’s Top 1% by ResearchGate in the Information Systems field.
