This book examines the ways Trump and his allies talk so as to normalize their extremism. Trumpism as a discourse operates on two levels where first there are extremist statements, such lies, misinformation, and conspiracy theories that are deployed to demonize enemies, and then on a second level those extremist statements get recharacterized to minimize their outrageousness and thereby work to normalize and even legitimate them.
