The work aims to close the research gap in 'family office research'. It examines how family offices, together with other measures, can contribute to the long-term preservation of complex family wealth, particularly with regard to the intergenerational transfer of wealth. In addition to financial assets, human and social assets are also taken into account. Expert discussions with representatives of family offices and wealthy families identify key issues and challenges. The aim is to use the knowledge gained to make reliable statements on the research questions and to critically analyse possible solutions for asset protection.
