This book is devoted to two-dimensional numerical modelling of particle transport (electrons and positive ions) in a filamentary discharge. The electrode configuration is flat, the gas used is nitrogen and the pressure is atmospheric pressure. The fluid model was chosen (coupling of the first two moments of the Boltzmann equation: continuity equation and momentum transfer equation to the Poisson equation). The numerical scheme used to solve the continuity equations is the FCT-LPE numerical scheme. The Poisson equation is solved in 2D using the Biconjugate Gradient Stabilized (BICGSTAB) method. Smooth and hard boundary conditions were used as boundary conditions. The electron density, axial electric field and net charge density were plotted.
