In the Thirteenth-Century Papal States, Visconte Malavolti, a violent mercenary knight, is haunted by a singularly heinous crime. Nevertheless, after meeting with his old friend Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, he pursues his nefarious schemes in the Papal States where he has a terrifying encounter with Margaret of Castello.

About the author
