Sport has traditionally been a male-dominated sector, and gender equality in this area is hindered by societal interpretations of femininity and masculinity, whereby sport is often associated with masculine characteristics such as physical strength and endurance, speed and high competitiveness, sometimes becoming a spirit of confrontation. One way to strengthen gender equality in sport is to integrate the gender dimension into relevant policy areas.gender equity implies that the needs, preferences and interests of women and men are taken into account equally. Gender equity is a concept integrated by multiple factors, hence the possibility of using sport as a tool to combat the backwardness and difficulties that inequity generates for the development of countries.the present work shows some paradigms of the progress achieved in the treatment of the gender approach in sport in the province of Villa Clara, as a reliable example that progress is being made in this sense. It contains four research results.
