About the author

Pietro Ruggieri is Chair of Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Oncology and Director of Scientific Center for Research of Musculoskeletal Tumors "Mario Mercuri" at University of Padova. Born in Italy in 1958, he graduated in Medicine at University of Bologna in 1982, completed Board of Orthopedics in 1987 and obtained Ph.D. in Oncology from University of Bologna in 1989. He is author of more than 1.000 scientific papers (H-Index 76, i10 Index 306) and was invited as a speaker in international congresses more than 900 times. He is member of the Long Range Finance and Limb Reconstruction Committees of SICOT. He is the Past Chair of Tumors, Education Centers and Infections Committees of SICOT and the Incoming President of EFORT. He further is Past President of EMSOS, Past President and Secretary General of ISOLS, as well as Scientific Coordinator for EFFORT and Editor in Chief of EOTEP of EFORT. His main fields of research are musculoskeletal oncology, reconstructive surgery, prostheses in musculoskeletal oncology.
Rohan Parwani is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and Associate Prof. at Department of Orthopedics of PDU Medical College, in Rajkot (India). Graduated in Medicine in 2010 and completed his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Pramukhswami Medical College, in Karamsad (India). Spent 1 year of clinical fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at Child Orthopedic Clinic (Mumbai, India) under the supervision of Dr. Ashok Johari. He also performed clinical observerships at the DuPont Children’s Hospital (Delaware, USA) and the SickKids Children Hospital (Toronto, Canada). He was Visiting Fellow at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (Texas, USA) and ISSH Travelling Fellow at Bombay Hospital, India. Member of many scientific Societies (SICOT, Indian Medical Association, Indian Orthopedic Association, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of India, Indian Academy of Cerebral Palsy, Indian Society of Surgery of Hand).
Khaled Mohammad Emara is Prof. of Orthopedic surgery at Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Ain Shams University Hospitals, Egypt. Graduated in 1990, obtained his Doctoral Degree at Ain Shams University in 1998 and was certified Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2010. He has been lecturer and moderator in a considerable amount of international congresses and Courses, also author of many scientific papers on pediatric orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma and management of deformities and limb lengthening & reconstruction with and without ring external fixation systems (Ilizarov techniques). He has been awarded from the Egyptian Medical Syndicate for the efforts in treating war injuries 2009. He is Chair of the SICOT Fellowships Committee and member of SICOT Infection Committee. Moreover, he is member of several scientific Societies (AAOS, EOA, ASAMI Egypt, AOAA, ICRS, AO Trauma, EGPOS).
Andrea Angelini is Associate Prof. of Orthopedic at Department of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Oncology, University of Padova. Born in Savignano sul Rubicone, Italy, in 1983, he obtained his medical degree (cum laude) at the University of Bologna in 2008. Obtained board certification in orthopedic surgery at University of Bologna and Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in 2014, Ph.D. in Oncology and Experimental Pathology from University of Bologna in 2016. His main field of interest are spine surgery and musculoskeletal tumors: he collaborated for books (editor of 4 books), chapters (contributor of 35 published book chapters), and numerous scientific papers (Scopus H-index 35, about 3500 citations). He has held courses and talks at international meetings (over 200 presentations). He was awarded for his scientific activity by EFORT, SIOT, EMSOS, SICOT and ISOLS. Secretary General of EMSOS, past-Chair of SICOT Tumor Committee, member of EOTEP of EFORT and Educational Committee of ISOLS. Abstract reviewer for EFORT and SICOT, and Editorial-board member of SICOT-J.
