From the poet behind Good Grief , a brand-new collection of poems and prose offering a glimpse into the mind of a highly sensitive person, or empath. I have a bellyache from constantly absorbing all this pain. I''d ask you to refrain from telling me, but your eyes already have. In a world that has become increasingly more difficult to navigate--physically, mentally, and spiritually--the ability to have empathy is now more important than ever. But what if you have a highly sensitive mind? With the expanded capacity to feel not only one set of emotions but also that of others, highly sensitive people, or empaths, experience life more deeply than the average person, which leaves them more susceptible to nervous system dysregulation, emotional trauma, and abuse. Divided into three parts of Body, Mind, and Soul, this intimate collection of poems by Brianna Pastor invites us inside a highly sensitive mind and explores what it''s like to both discover neurodivergence in adulthood and live life through an empathetic lens. And hopefully, by chasing this understanding of sensitivity and how it affects others, we can get one step closer to a more connected, healed world.
