This lithotype is restricted, occurring in a few places, such as Italy, Uganda and Brazil, such as the Goiás Alkaline Province (PAGO). The purpose of the book is to provide a broad review of kamafugites and associated rocks, as well as the generations of these occurrences, field aspects and petrographic slide descriptions.

Guiherme Marques Martins has a bachelor's degree in geology from UFES, Rodson de Abreu Marques is a PhD Professor in the Department of Geology - CCENS/UFES and Edgar Batista de Medeiros Júnior is a PhD Professor in the Department of Geology at the UFOP School of Mines.
