Broadly publicising the history of the Senhor do Bonfim Church in Bocaiuva is one of the text's priorities. With this in mind, the work aims to highlight the remarkable history of the Church of Senhor do Bonfim de Bocaiuva, which goes back centuries and whose memory is intertwined with the emergence of the city, a fact that increases its dimension and relevance. A general context of the country and the state of Minas Gerais is described to demonstrate the influences that had an impact on Bocaiuva in terms of the society and architecture produced. This book is aimed at all those who want to recover the past and relate it to the present of the town's church.
