About the author










Robert O'Byrne is one of Ireland's best-known writers on architecture, fine art, and design. A former journalist with the Irish Times, he has written extensively on the country's historic houses and their decoration. Among his previous books are Romantic Irish HomesRomantic English Homes, and Luggala (also published by CICO Books). The Irish Aesthete (theirishaesthete.com and @the.irish.aesthete on Instagram) was begun as a means of sharing Robert's interest in Ireland's architectural heritage with a wider audience. He is based in County Meath, Ireland.
