About the author

Professor YEO Tiong Cheng
is the group chief for cardiology at the National University Heart Center Singapore. He is a senior consultant cardiologist with many years of clinical expertise and teaching experience. He is an adjunct professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He has published many peer-reviewed papers  in various high impact journals, and has delivered lectures at several conferences. He has received numerous awards for his 30-year service in the National University Hospital. He has mentored cardiologists and is still teaching trainees from his wealth of clinical knowledge and experience. 

Professor POH Kian Keong
, MBBChir (Camb), MA, MMed, FRCP, FAMS, FACC, FASE, is an adjunct professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Prof Poh is a senior consultant cardiologist at the National University Heart Center in Singapore, where he is the director of research in the Department of Cardiology. He is a past chair of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Assembly of International Governors and serves on the ACC Lifelong Learning Oversight Committee after stepping down from the Scientific Publication Committee. Additionally, he has just stepped down from the board of directors for the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). His editorial leadership includes just served as the editor-in-chief of the Singapore Medical Journal (now hononary advisor) and on the editorial boards of JASE and JACC (Asia). He was the past president of Singapore Cardiac Society.  He has also multiple publications including in high-impact factor journals and renowed globally in cardiology.
