With the evolution of health care, organizations linked to this sector have increasingly invested in the prevention of Healthcare Associated Infections, of which we highlight Surgical Site Infections (SSI), which represent one of the main Healthcare Associated Infections identified in hospitalized patients. We studied 214 patients undergoing total hip replacement, with the aim of analyzing the effect of the measures implemented to prevent SSIs in patients undergoing total hip replacement between 2014 and 2016 at the Northeast Hospital Unit. Of the 214 participants, 56.1% were male and 43.9% female, aged between 35 and 87, with an average of 71.04 years. 20.6% were obese, 19.2% had diabetes and 4.7% had both conditions. It was concluded that after the implementation of the bundles, the surgical site infection rate fell by 28.4%.
