Encouraging Change manual looks at ways to enable people to improve their own well-being. Therefore we are looking to do that through better water supply, water use, sanitation and hygiene. Firstly the manual is aimed at extension workers. It offers tested examples from which they can design their own modules to suit the situation in and demands of different communities. Moreover it uses participatory methods. Which involve all sections of the community and concentrates on changes which can be achieved at minimal cost. However the same modules and techniques can be used also for communities with access to greater funds, giving them the opportunity to consider what options are not just affordable in the short term, but sustainable in the long term.
