In our work, we undertook a number of steps to analyze and resolve failure problems at the Ouenza mine, focusing on three machines (loader, truck and bulldozer). Firstly, we took a close look at the failure history of each machine. Secondly, we used Pareto's law to prioritize the failures. This revealed that mechanical failures accounted for the highest percentage of the various types of failure. We therefore concentrated our efforts on this category. Our main objective in this study was to reduce costs by minimizing faults and increasing machine reliability and productivity. Thanks to our results, we were able to identify the main reason for frequent mechanical breakdowns, which gave us the basis for proposing concrete solutions aimed at reducing these malfunctions and thus optimizing the maintenance of our equipment based on reliability, the objective of our work.
