New York City's Times Square, Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 34th Street are among its most world-renowned destinations famous for their glittering lights, landmark buildings, and designer shops. But for Xiomáro, the real attraction is the evocative mash-up of people within its grittier streets.

About the author

The National Park Service commissions Xiomáro to create fine art photographic collections of historical sites, artifacts, and landscapes associated with George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and other iconic figures. In between projects, this life-long New Yorker keeps his skills sharp by photographing his encounters in the Big Apple. He was described in a PBS episode as "a historian through the lens" while The New York Times described his photographs as having "an unorthodox look" with a "focus on striking details." He is the author of Weir Farm National Historic Site (Arcadia Publishing, 2019) with a foreword by Senator Joseph I. Lieberman.
