About the author
A. O. Surendranathan received his BSc in chemistry in 1975 from the University of Calicut, India, and his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering in 1994 from Mangalore University, India. He was a senior research fellow at Central Electrochemical Research Institute, India, and retired as a professor in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India, in 2019. His research involves the study of materials with respect to their corrosion properties. He has also worked in the areas of powder metallurgy, superplasticity, and batteries. He has guided students in the areas of powder metallurgy, superplasticity, corrosion, electroplating, welding, heat treatment, polymers, composites, and nanotechnology. Prof. Surendranthan has authored approximately 160 papers in refereed professional journals and proceedings of conferences and 2 books.
