First published in the late 1600s, his Institutio Theologicae Elencticae is the fruit of some thirty years of his teaching at the Academy of Geneva, and this three-volume set is the first complete edition to be published in the English language. As an elenctic theology, it seeks to affirm and demonstrate the truth by refuting false doctrine--in this case contrasting a comprehensive Reformed theology with conflicting perspectives, particularly Roman Catholic, Arminian, and Socinian views.
