About the author

Zahid Hussain received his M.Sc. degree (2013) in Biochemistry from Punjab University Lahore, and his M.S. degree (2017) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from COMSATS University Islamabad. He earned his Ph.D. (2019-23) in the same field at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He then joined Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO) as a Research Assistant Professor. His research interests focus on therapeutic nanomaterials, cell surface engineering, and fabrication of cell-instructive scaffolds. He has published up to 35 peer-reviewed academic papers in prestigious journals. 
Renjun Pei received his Bachelor's and Ph.D. degrees from Department of Chemistry of Wuhan University in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He engaged in research at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southern Illinois University, Kyoto University, and Columbia University from 1998 to 2011. Since 2011, he has been working as a professor at the Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Together with his research team, his current research interest includes aptamer SELEX and applications, nano-based diagnosis and therapy, organoids, cell surface engineering, and stem cells for tissue regeneration. He has published up to 150 peer-reviewed academic papers in prestigious journals.
