About the author

When Katherine Child was a child the idea of being grown up seemed so very unlikely that she never had many thoughts about what she would do when she finally got there. She grew up in Devon, studied in Cornwall then spent a couple of years as a background artist in children's animation. On realizing she was big, she decided she wanted to write and illustrate, went back to Falmouth to complete a masters in Authorial Illustration, then got a job in the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, photographing insects. She now works part time at the museum and part time as a writer and illustrator. When Katherine Child was a child the idea of being grown up seemed so very unlikely that she never had many thoughts about what she would do when she finally got there.
