This book examines truthfulness in transmedia practices, particularly in relation to scientific knowledge and the transmedial mediation of our perception of the world. In light of deepening environmental, political, and humanitarian crises, the role of transmedia storytelling in mainstream and social media is paramount. Harnessing such ideas as ecomedia literacy , the book looks at the development of new ecologies, which may be utopian or dystopian depending on our critical approach to texts. As such, it draws attention to how transmedia can be both potentially dangerous, but also instrumental in constructing positive attitudes, educating professionals, offering outlets to alternative sources of information and, by extension, promoting democracy.
