He is the author of Amistad's Orphans: An Atlantic Story of Children, Slavery, and Smuggling (2014). He is also the co-editor of several books, including Adjudicating Refugee and Asylum Status: The Role of Witness, Expertise, and Testimony (2015; with Galya Ruffer) and Trafficking in Slavery’s Wake: Law and the Experience of Women and Children in Africa (2012; with Richard L. Roberts).
