The publication Migratory flows in Brazil: internal and international movements is a collection of articles derived from the author's research projects during his doctoral studies in the Demography Department of the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at the State University of Campinas and his post-doctoral studies in the Human Ecology Department of the Faculty of Sociology II at the Complutense University of Madrid. The articles were driven by two central questions: to understand the new phenomena related to migratory flows, both internally and externally, especially since the 1980s; and to think about public policies that take international migration into account.
