Population ageing is a global reality with an impact on Portugal. In this context and taking into account the political, economic, social and health repercussions of this phenomenon, the World Health Organisation has developed a new paradigm called Active Ageing. Studies focussing on this paradigm have been on the rise, but there are significant gaps in research that encompasses Active Ageing and International Migration. With this in mind, the general aim of this book is to explore the process of Active Ageing of Portuguese migrants travelling to France and returning to Portugal. It is based on the qualitative paradigm, using the oral history method.
