In sub-Saharan Africa, and more specifically in Cameroon, inequalities between men and women persist despite advances in development and the fight for gender equality. Women are still victims of discrimination and struggle to find their place in the country's development process. This situation calls for in-depth reflection on women's employment, their empowerment and their ability to influence Cameroon's development. The aim of this study is to shed light on these disparities, based on data from the 2011 EDS-MICS (Enquête Démographique et de Santé et à Indicateurs Multiples) conducted by the INS (Institut National de la Statistique). Through univariate and bivariate descriptive statistical analyses, as well as the calculation of linkage indicators between variables, we will attempt to understand the factors that perpetuate these inequalities, and propose appropriate solutions.
