The application of tanned cattle manure is the most common form of fertilization in family farming production systems. However, the application of this organic source is carried out without much control, which contributes to the leaching of nutrients that can contaminate the water table. The aim was to evaluate the vertical movement of phosphorus (P) in a sandy soil under long-term fertilization with cattle manure in laboratory conditions. The results obtained show that fertilization with cattle manure in sandy soil poses a real risk of contaminating groundwater in the region.
