The main objective of this work is to understand the communication strategies of this newspaper established in the relationship between the enunciators (newspaper) and the enunciated (readers), based on an analysis of this periodical which had an ephemeral passage within the framework of journalism in the city of Quelimane. The results of the research led to the conclusion that the communication and reception strategies of the Onona-mais newspaper with the enunciators were based on the placement of news mostly linked to the cultural identity of the readers and that it was an important milestone in the printed journalism developed in the city of Quelimane for arousing and energizing debates on the various issues that were published in the newspaper linked to the demands of the city.
