Needle recapping is a frequent practice among nursing staff and is related to the high potential risk of accidents and is recognized as one of the greatest risk factors for occupational exposure to biological agents. The aim of this quantitative descriptive study was to identify the existence of the practice of needle recapping by the nursing team; to compare the answers to the questionnaires applied to the staff about the practice of recapping with the results found at the sharps disposal site; and to investigate the knowledge of the staff who are part of the nursing team about biosafety practices.
