Holly and Ivy are a new pair of matching, colourful Christmas socks. They are very fond of each other.

One day, something unexpected and strange happens, and Holly finds that Ivy is suddenly missing.

Holly feels rather sad, but luckily, she will be reunited with Ivy very soon on Christmas Day itself!

A sweet, festive story that introduces young children to the concepts of temporary loss and the possibility of helping others through second-hand clothing charity shops.

About the author

Alison Tomlin has been fortunate enough to have enjoyed an already long and full life. She has mastered many things in her life, alongside being married in May 1968 and having five children. However, she found that writing a book presented a completely new challenge. She decided to focus on writing a short story that would hopefully engage little children who are just beginning to learn about life itself. Alison hopes that children aged 3 to 5 will, with the encouragement of an adult reader, probably mum or dad, begin to think about how different families can be.
