In view of the various issues presented in this work, we have sought to emphasize reflections on rescuing the appreciation of traces of African culture in children's literature books. The representations of black people in these books reflect and interfere in the construction of identity. The perspective of this study made explicit the importance of pedagogical work with literary tales, as it contributes to the (de)construction of stereotypes. In order to meet the objectives of analyzing and identifying the role of black people in literature, we noticed the absence of Law 10.639/03 in the school environment. School is a place of multiple relationships, so discussions about ethnic-racial issues should be part of the curriculum, because once taught, they are reproduced in the social world.
