Rickey Fondren II was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where he currently resides. Rickey is a graduate of Strayer University, holds a Certificate of Biblical Studies from Memphis City Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Memphis City Seminary. He is a pastor at Hope Church Memphis, leading a community for single and young adults called The Collective. Because Rickey loves God first and basketball second, God inspired him to weave the two together in The Playbook to encourage readers to chase after biblical principles as they enjoy basketball stories.Rickey is married to Reagan, and they have two children.
