This book is designed for individuals living with the scrupulosity subtype of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Scrupulosity focuses on fears and doubts around making religious or moral mistakes, which can lead to significant distress and have a negative impact on a person's life. This book contains TRIGGERING IMAGES AND WORDS that are meant to challenge fears about being a bad person, religious and taboo obsessions and doubt. The religious scrupulosity exposure pages in this book are oriented toward the Christian faith and towards teens and adults. These pages are intended to target fears and therefore are meant to be anxiety-provoking so you can practice leaning into discomfort, while resisting compulsions. This book can be used independently for ERP practice if you are familiar with the treatment modality, or with a therapist who can guide you through the activities.
Exposure and response prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based treatment intervention for OCD that involves gradually being exposed to fears and triggers while resisting compulsions.
